AMBERWATCH FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH SEARCHHELP, INC. TO PROVIDE PARENTS AMBERWATCH® LOOKOUT
Irvine, CA (April 6, 2009) - In a move to offer parents a powerful solution for keeping their children safe from sexual predators, pornography and other danger content while on the internet, the AmberWatch Foundation today announced a new alliance with SearchHelp, Inc., a public company (SHLP) and a leader in parental control technology. Powered by SearchHelp's subsidiary, FamilySafe, Inc., AmberWatch® Lookout puts a highly customizable spin on online parental control.
"The partnership with SearchHelp and its FamilySafe technology marks an important step for us," says Keith Jarrett, Chairman and CEO of the AmberWatch Foundation, the mission of which is to prevent child abduction and sexual abuse through education and tools. "One of the most dangerous areas for kids these days is the internet. We felt strongly that we needed to be a part of the solution by not only educating kids and parents on best practices when it comes to internet use, but also by giving parents the absolute most effective tools to protect their children while they are online. AmberWatch® Lookout is that solution."
There is no better time than April to announce such news, since April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Portions of proceeds from the sale of AmberWatch® Lookout subscriptions will go to fund the work of the AmberWatch Foundation, which provides its "Be Safe!" Education Program free of charge to schools, communities and municipalities. Through a series of "what if?" scenarios, the "Be Safe!" Program (presented by law enforcement and education professionals) shows children and parents how to identify and respond to dangerous situations.
AmberWatch® Lookout is innovative internet protection software that allows parents to monitor their child's internet activity, including sites visited and applications used; filter out dangerous (or even unsavory) websites and content; block certain words and phrases from coming up in chats and instant messages, with the option to block "buddies" who violate the rules; control time of day and length of internet sessions; and be alerted via text or emails when there's a potential problem – all from any computer, anywhere.
"We are very happy about this partnership," said Jeffrey Greene, Chief Executive Officer of SearchHelp, Inc. (SHLP) "A partnership with a strong recognized non-profit organization such as the AmberWatch Foundation enhances our ability to approach and communicate to a wider audience and to provide parents across the United States with one of the best parental control tools in the market."
AmberWatch® Lookout will be available for purchase this month.
